On July 4th, 2011 drummers from across America tried to break the Guiness Book of World Records for the most drummers playing a drum roll at the same time. Over 1000 drummers showed up from states as far away as California and Arizona. Parents brought their sons that played drums in the school band. Some career drummers made it a point to be there and even the drummer for the Chairmen of the Board was there to show his support for his community.

Prior to the event, hosted by WFMY News, there was an aggressive campaign to “drum up” enough interested parties to meet the goal of 1776 drummers. Giftys.com was one of the sponsors of the event.
